Suddenly unwell mid-stretch

I'm trying to work out what happened yesterday.

I have physio leg stretching exercises to do every day. Yesterday was busy and I didn't get them done in the morning, or afternoon.

Instead I lay down to do them soon after dinner (chicken / veg, glass of apple juice, followed by a decaff coffee and two chocolates) I wanted to get the exercises out of the way before I started wrapping presents.

I'd only done ten bridges and ten right leg stretches when I rolled over to do the left leg, and everything started spinning. I came out in a cold sweat and felt nauseous. I tried to get up to sit but couldn't and lay down again. DH and adult DS were alarmed, but I farted a bit and felt slightly better, then crawled through to the toilet and managed to get onto it. I had diarrhoea. Got into my pjs and into bed feeling a bit better but still nauseous, so DH put a bucket next to me. I was asleep by 9pm.

I woke after midnight, shivery, and clammy again. I woke DH who said I looked "waxy" and wanted to phone NHS24, but then I was very sick, and as soon as I'd emptied my stomach I felt much better and DH said my colour came back straightaway.

Slept in till 9am, and I still feel totally washed out and lethargic, but not at all ill. I've had two glasses of water and two mugs of sweet coffee, cannot face food.

What happened? Why did I go from perfectly well to very unwell in the ten seconds it took to roll from my right side to my left? I was just doing physio stretches, not vigorous exercise.

(DH and DS had the chicken too, and it happened too quickly to be food poisoning. Only difference in our dinner was that they split a pint of beer between them and I had apple juice.)

That's how i am with a stomach bug, no warning at all.

Nothing to do with the stretches. It sounds like food poisoning which can happen, even if the others who are the same meal, weren’t affected.

Hydrate!

Yeah sounds like the food didn't agree with you for some reason.
