App to use at gym

I'm a new gym user and looking for a good app to use at the gym which would give me ideas of different things to do each time I go either with weights or on machines (so cardio and resistance/strength training). I've started using Shred and found it OK. Are there any others anyone can recommend please?

I use Kic for that, but will follow with interest.

You will be far better off having a two way conversation with one of the gym instructors. They usually offer an induction where they can provide advice. If not you can probably walk up to one of them and say you are new and after advice.

Apps are very limited in what they can teach you.

A PT session will be more helpful and tailored to your needs.

I agree with PPs about talking to a gym trainer. Apps don't "teach" you - unless you buy into an online coaching app.

I've been seeing a PT for a couple of years so know techniques and lots of exercises but now I'm going to the gym on my own and want a kind of programme for each time I go.

You could look at something like Yoga Rebel or Elevate with Charlotte which have programmes that you can follow as well as follow along sessions. But they are both quite expensive - it might be better to ask a PT at the gym for a programme.

If you have been going a few years why do you need an app to write your routine for you? It's not going to know your training goals and preferences better that yourself.

Why this modern day obsession do get an app to plan out every aspect of our lives?

I use the ‘Ladder’ app. Tons of different programmes to follow that are in 6 week segments. It’s probably the best I’ve ever used and doesn’t cost the Earth.

Does anyone knows if Equionox gym has an app ?
