Weight lifting- where to start?!

Just that really. Can’t afford gym fees but need to tone up and build up strength. How do you know where to start?
I’m 5ft 3” and weigh 60kg. All my weight is on my stomach.
Would love some tips please!

To build muscle you need to lift heavy weights for fewer reps. This is difficult to do at home unless you buy a proper gym set up.

I follow people on you tube and just follow their work outs. I did a twenty minute today and got my weights in Argos

Have you got any weights? You need to build up to lifting heavy to make a difference. 60kg is barely anything though, weights wouldn’t do a huge amount to burn belly fat but would make you more toned. Have a look at YouTube work outs as a starting point.

I dont actually agree Financeisfun. You can build muscle by increasing either weight or reps.

I ordered my weights from temu, 5kg & 10kg dumbells, and 12kg kettlebell. Surprising reasonable cost & quality, and helpful when I have limited time, and not able to make it to the gym x
