Started this again today (have completed it a few times over the years!). Anyone else beginning it so we can cheer each other on?

I don’t know if this will help anyone but if you are struggling, you are running too fast 😂

I am new to C2k5 never run in my life I’m on week 4 and finding it manageable as I use my heart rate to track if I am going too fast and slow down if I am, I use the MAF method of 180- my age and then I stick around this number. It helps you to not get exhausted. I swear by it!

I agree with going slower. Im on week 4 and it took me a while to learn how to run slow,

Week 4 run 3 done! I really focuses on being able to breathe this run instead of distance or speed ready for next week and it was so much easier

How's everyone else getting on?

Oh reading the thread really makes me want to join you all! I did c25k a few years ago and then worked on speed for a while. I was such an I unsporty person and just loved how the programme was designed to help me feel like a winner - was amazing when you could run for 20 min all of a sudden! I’ve got a bit of a dodgy knee now though sadly when hurts after I’ve run for a while, but it does mostly hold up for a 10 min treadmill run at the end of the gym - my favourite part! Maybe I need to be brave and trust the process to build me up gradually…x

I’m just back from week 4 run1. Managed to successfully puff and gasp my way through the first 5 minute runs. Never thought I’d manage that!
I saw a lady on the other side of the field who looked like I felt. I would have given her a high five but she was off in the other direction and, at my glacial pace, I’d never have caught up with her. Is there an etiquette when you recognise a fellow c25k student?

I have been listening to a playlist of upbeat pop songs but yesterday the shuffle threw up a dramatic orchestral piece which gave me a surprising boost of motivation. I might try setting out to ‘ride of the valkyries’ next time!

My playlist is fleetwood mac, Billy ocean, Annie Lennox, quite a few 80s songs 🤣 i get a surge of energy when holding out for a hero comes on!

Week 5 run 1 for me today, this week every run is different, I was daydreaming today and zoned out which made it a bit easier

Well done! ‘Unstoppable’ is a fave for me when exercising, plus lots of 80s 90s kinda pop, pump up the jam, eye of the tiger

im joining! I’m on week 5 run3. But last run I did a whole 20 mins without stopping to prove I could do it before the dreaded week 5 run 3😬 - I couldn’t even run 1 minute!!!

Hi, can I join in?
I used to run 5k parkruns but stopped a couple of years back so am using C25K to get myself back to it. I'm doing wk4 run1 later, I only have time for 2 runs a week so it'll take me longer but I can feel the improvement already!
I listen to a 130bpm rock playlist on Spotify and have Sarah Millican keeping me going, I love her!

I too couldn't do the 60 seconds at the start and now I can do 5 minutes! Will see tomorrow if I manage 8!

I found it a lot easier than I thought. And then the second 8 minute run I just kept going ran through the cool down and then just thought il see how long! I couldn’t believe it to be honest.

I’m going to do wk5 run 3 tonight which is the 20 min run so I’m hoping I can do it again!

5 weeks ago I couldn’t run 1 minute. I have the bug !!

Well done that's amazing!

I really didn't want to run yesterday, felt tired and achey, but I forced myself out and felt so much better afterwards. Wk 4 Run 2 done😊

I just ran my first 5k!! I kinda jumped passed week 6 run 1, and thought screw it. Took me like 45 mins but I did it without stopping. I’m so so proud of myself!!
