Looking for a treadmill JTX or Echelon

I am looking for a treadmill to go back into shape. I wanted something foldable.

I am thinking of JTX runrise for £799 - I like it a lot but the price!

Or Echelon Stride 20 - pricewise is better.

Any thoughts or recommendations? There is currently 10% on echelon. I know JTX is due to have summer sale but not sure when.

The Stride 20 doesn't fold flat, for that you need the Stride 6 which comes in just short of £1000. I haven't tried either but the Stride 6 looks very similar to the runrise xl.

I have the JTX runrise xl which I picked up when it was on special offer of £899. I went for the xl as it was a similar size to the Peloton tread which I had a free trial of. I couldn't keep it as it took up too much room in my small gym. The JTX is ideal for my small space as it folds completely flat against the wall and is very easy to put up and down. It's maybe not quite as sturdy as the Peloton but I am very pleased with it. I tend not to use the ipad holder as that does tend to rattle once you get up to jog/run speed, but I have a smart tv in my gym which I use instead. The JTX connects to the Peloton app for tracking speed and incline though it is in kmph rather than mph. I made a little conversion chart but after a while you remember automatically. I found the company good and I spent some time on the phone to them with a few questions and they were very helpful. They also have free shipping. Echelon charge £99 unless you sign up to their 1 or 2 year plan.

@Julietta05 How are you getting on with your treadmill?

Julietta05 · 16/08/2025 17:59

I am away currently. I was really please until it got an error. I have reported it online and they sent me a part (simple fault).

I am really pleased with it. I want to get back to shape so I did not try it on the fast setting.

Hey, @nbee84 thanks for your review on the JTX Runrise. It's very helpful! I also have Peloton and am wondering if you find the 10% incline on the JTX limiting? I know the Peloton tread goes up to a 12.5%. Have you been in many classes that go above the 10% incline? I'm between the JTX and the Adidas T-24c treadmill that does 12% incline and 19kph which is a bit less than Peloton but has a slower motor and worse warranty so I'm trying to balance the different advantages/disadvantages

@TalkthattalkRe the incline - it depends if you do a lot of the hiking classes , I've not seen a run class that goes up that high. Some of the hiking classes go up to 15% as that is what the Tread+ goes up to. The instructor just tells you to set your treadmill to it's max. I'll usually just walk a bit faster at 10% to make up the difference - certainly gets my heart rate up.
As to the 19kph - I can manage short (v short 😆) intervals at 15kph, so the top speed doesn't limit me in any way.
I've had the treadmill for over a year now, bought this one because of how compact it is when folded, and I'm still very pleased with it. I had a couple of problems with it stopping mid run but discovered that it was my unheated gym (it's indoors but in a room that where the radiator doesn't work) caused the problem. Warming up the safety key for 5mins before inserting solved the problem. I just tuck it in my bra top while I'm doing some warm up stretches 😂

Also the JTX Runrise XL has the same size deck as the Peloton. The Runrise and the Adidas one you mentioned have a smaller deck.
