Guided exercise you can just listen to?

Extremely unfit and know I have to tackle it. Going to the gym isn't feasible, neither is a PT. I have very little time to myself, or funds, and live rurally.
In an ideal world I'd really like to pop in earbuds and just have someone talk me through an exercise session.
I think I could probably find some yt videos and just listen instead of watching, but does anyone know of any podcast type content that might fit the bill please?
Any other recommendations welcome.
I'm not built for running, I'm thinking circuits, kettlebells, weights, that sort of thing.

There are so many beginner exercise plans on YouTube it’s worth spending an evening sat with a cuppa and just watch the beginnings of a few then bookmark the ones you like.

I just bought some kettlebells https://amzn.eu/d/b5rOml7 they are not too awful a price, kettlebells are expensive, but they’re soft so if you drop them they drop with a thud rather than a crash bang.

also start just getting outside to walk, pop in your earbuds and start with however long you can manage that works for you.

the most important thing is consistency, set yourself time maybe a half hour walk a day to start with and weights 3 times a week. With the walk it doesn’t matter where you start, if literally all you can manage is the end of your drive today, keep at it and you’ll soon start to develop strength to go further.

it’s also worth considering swimming, if you google Kathleen wotton she’s an outdoor swimmer and a massive inspiration.

the most important thing is to do something regularly and have fun.

Strength and flex podcast.

It was the counterpart to couch to 5km.

@ScaryM0nster do you know how I can listen without having to sign up for an app ?
I've had a look and although there are some that seem free when I install them it's only a free trial.
I use an Android phone.
Any help much appreciated.

@Billybagpuss thank you for the great ideas! I walk every lunchtime with the dog, but she's slow so it's not a brisk walk.

Do you have any kind of podcast app on your phone?

violetqueen6 · 21/04/2025 10:57

@ScaryM0nster I've only got something called Pocketcast and BbC sounds which is mainly what I listen to .
I guess I need to sign up and pay for something ?

ScaryM0nster · 21/04/2025 13:18

Have a look on pocket cast for it. It’s available on the apple
podcast app (which I realise is no help to you) but I know theres a lot of cross over. It’s also available on the radio uk podcast app which I think is free and it’s a free podcast.

violetqueen6 · 21/04/2025 13:28

Ooh I've installed the radio UK app. and got it on there.
Thank you so much @ScaryM0nster !
