At home Pilates

I’m really wanting to tone up after losing around 3 stone. I haven’t exercised in a long time and really want to start feeling confident and love my body’s I’ve heard Pilates is very good for that but with childcare, I’d find it very hard to get to a class.
can anyone recommend a good at home Pilates subscription?

I haven’t got any recommendations but following with interest - I loved my Pilates classes but now need something to work with from home, would be great to find something too!

Flow with Mira on youtube. Highly recommend. Lotsof classes to chose from and she is good at talking through adjustments. If you havent done pilates before take time to do some of the very beginner stuff because getting the breathing and posture right makes the dofference and keeps you safe. Ive noticed such a difference with daily practice

YouTube have NHS Pilates videos which are good, and free!

Pilates by Izzy is amazing! She has free videos on YouTube and has just started a programme as well

A monthly subscription virtual studio or Zoom classes are pay as you go or a monthly fee if you wanted sometime to “attend” and help you commit to a regular routine.

Fluid form Pilates is amazing

I used to go to these classes in person - Rosa is a great teacher - and have just signed up for her videos on demand. There's a 21 day challenge which has been perfect for getting me started, because it's just 10 minutes a day, but really seems to make a difference. There's a free 7 day trial so you can see whether it's for you before committing pilatespluswellness.com/on-demand/

I like Lottie Murphy - just doing her 24 day challenge which is good.

Hey @Pengu1n1990 ,

Congrats on dropping 3 stones, that's a wonderful achievement.

I regularly use Pilates Anytime, I think it's approx £19p/m.

I enjoy Laura Hanlon's classes on there. Laura teaches a very classical style of pilates, she offers great instructions with lots of cues to help you target the correct muscles.

There are tons of instructors on there, but she is my go to when I'm working-out on holiday, with only access to my mat and my own equipment (small ball, theraband, magic circle, booty-bands, and hand/ankle -weights) and away from my usual routine of daily reformer classes. Word of caution, I find her mat classes are much harder than my reformer classes 🙈

Seconding lottie Murphy, her platform is great but she has a ton of free videos on YouTube too.

Bodycore Pilates has a great selection including some more relationships focused classes too. Subscription based but I think there is a free trial www.bodycore-pilates.com/

The Pilates program app has a 7 day free trial, and it’s good

Moovness (clairelouisepilates) - £10 pm to access a large catalogue of videos. I attend her classes. She's very experienced.

Move with Nicole is very popular on youtube and tiktok and free

Piggy backing on this thread OP! Are any of your suggestions really strong for mindfulness and focus? I do online mat based classes for about 5 years...the instructor is lovely but she talks and talks. I really want to zone out on an exercise but she'll talk about her dog, or holidays or the weather . Or where there are different levels for an exercise she'll talk about them throughout the exercise so it just becomes a jumble. She's not great at corrections either, i never know when i should have soft knees or not. (And I've fed that back to her) I'd love a mat based.class where I can really zone out and focus. Thank you .

I like her. Her movements are simple and easy to follow and she doesn’t waffle on like some instructors do. Beautiful setting too!
