Encouragement please (!) with post injury exercise

I have two tricky hips after a life of not enough exercise, being hyper-mobile and one big fall off a bike onto one hip. I am finding the rehab exercise does work but it’s very hard, slow work and I am often in real discomfort.
There’s a sense of it never getting much better.
I would love some encouragement is all.
I would love to hear someone say - “it can feel like you’ll never get better but don’t give up.”
I do have good Physios but I am so demoralized at times.
I guess some weaknesses can take a long time to get better?
thanks in advance for any encouragement - I feel very fed up at the moment!

Yes, rehab is hard slow work, but it DOES get better!

I tore an important bit of muscle while doing interval sprints - partly as a consequence of age (i'm in. my 60s) . I had to do about 18 months of slow rehab, but my leg is now stronger than ever!

I saw a physio privately throughout - it's such a good investment in mobility.

Thank you so much Littlebighead!
I have been going to physios privately but I find it hard to do the exercises religiously enough.
I think I find it hard to gauge when soreness is fine and to exercise with and when it isn’t.
i feel as if I don’t have the psychological resilience to be committed enough! I just get very low I think - which sounds so lame!

Bodies are amazing! I never realised this until I started strength training. They can adapt and respond to what you do to them, so if you do the exercises it will respond. Its never too late, they can keep on responding to what you do to them, and can end up better when you’re older than they ever were when you were younger. Keep going and hope it works out for you.

Thank you both for the encouragement, I really appreciate it.
It feels very lonely work!
