Peloton Bike+

Does anyone have a Peloton Bike+? I’m considering getting one, I really need to start doing some regular exercise and, for time reasons, something I can do at home is best. I wondered if you’ve found it worth the investment and if it’s suitable for beginners?

I am concerned that it will become a clothes hangar rather than the motivation to exercise that I need! Thanks

I have a normal one rather than plus (I think just a bigger/swivel screen?)

They have loads of beginner rides so it's definitely suitable (and great fun!). I guess it's a big investment if you have no idea if you'll use it or not though!

You could sign up to just the app for free for a month first to see if you gel with the instructors and make time in your routine?

I have a second hand peloton bike that i got for £500 from someone returning to live in the US. Bought an adapter thing to enable me to swivel the screen, which is pretty much the difference between a normal bike and Bike +. I love peloton spin classes - but do you know if you do?

Gymbunny2025 · 13/02/2025 13:47

@whoopdeedoo good point- I got mine during Covid when gyms closed, already knowing I love spin classes. OP have you ever done a spin class?

Wobblemonster · 13/02/2025 14:26

Thanks all. No, I’ve never done a spin class before and think I would feel a bit intimidated going to one. I expect to be slow and withe little stamina to start so that’s another reason I thought the privacy of my own home may help.

I also liked the idea of being able to add yoga classes as well, which I believe I can with the app subscription.

They do have a lot of classes with the membership, there's the spinning classes, strength, stretching, cardio, dance, running, walking, yoga, Pilates and rowing. There's so much variety too with each class. You can do quick ten minute classes up to 60 minutes and you can filter too when searching for classes - I always filter to around 30 minutes and my favourite instructors - They've just started personalised plans too which I really like because I can spend so long just trying to decide what class I want to do but every week now they've set out classes that they recommend and I much prefer it.

There's a second hand group on Facebook which is where I got mine from, so it's a cheaper alternative. There's always loads on there that people say are hardly used. You can get pelotons on there for around £500/600. I then just connect mine to the TV when I'm doing strength/cardio classes so I personally don't see the need in spending a lot extra for the swivel screen on the +.

I absolutely love mine because I know I wouldn't have the motivation to go to the gym and when I'm on my own with the kids I can still exercise. I also love that I can do it to my own schedule and I'm not having to book gym classes in advance that I then either can't attend due to child or work commitments and I can also decide on what type of class I want to do in the moment. There's family classes on there too which mine like getting involved with. I was extremely impressed with how much you get with the membership

@stripes416 thank you so much, that’s really useful information. I love that there’s family classes available too; I had been looking for a fitness activity for us all to attend but was struggling to to find somewhere we could all go without age restrictions. I think I’m going to get one, if it turns out to be a mistake I can always resell it!

Hi @Wobblemonster did you get the peloton? How are you getting on with it?

Trampoline · 21/01/2026 08:12

Hi @Wobblemonster I'm also wondering how you got on? I could have written your posts so keen to know if you took the plunge and how you're enjoying it?
