Beyond c25k

Hi fellow runners,

I've just completed c25k and found that I really liked the structured format. I followed it to a T on my treadmill.

I'm confused about what to do next. Ideally I'd like to go from 5-10k and to some varied runs outside. I really need a structured format so I can just do as it says.

There seems to be an awful lot of running apps and I am confused which one to use.

I can't find an NHS one only the beyond runs. I'd rather another nine week programme with a clear aim.

Does anyone have any recommendations or ones to avoid.

Many thanks x

I really like the ZRX app. It's got 3 options but they're basically 3 different storylines, each an 8 week plan to get you up to 10K

Run 10k app has helped me get to 10k. Free and you can listen to music at the same time.

Thankyou, I'll have a look at both x

Runna is the best running app available right now. You can totally customise it and it does a really good job of pushing to increase your fitness. It also includes strength and mobility workouts if you want them. Can't recommend it more highly.

If time allows, a 10k plan is a good idea as it continues to develop stamina which you need before you can develop speed.

If you like being talked through a run, Nike Run Club has different sessions and is a good way to mix running up and try different types of workout which will come up in speed/ time based targets.
