At home treadmill recommendations/things to avoid?

Thinking of getting a treadmill for running at home - we live rurally and while I love getting out and feeling the fresh air etc, it’s not so much fun when running through puddles/jumping over potholes/sinking into ankle deep mud. Am only a casual 5k runner, so don’t need it to be a really serious bit of kit, but equally am a big believer in buy cheap, buy twice so want to get something that will last and do a proper job. I like the idea of a screen where I can run different trails around the world - can you connect up to TVs with running machines or is it all on the attached screen? Our internet isn’t brilliant so that’s something to bear in mind. Does anyone have any recommendations or ones to avoid? I’m not into live classes so don’t need a peloton tread…thank you!

@Howdoesitend what did you get in the end? Read your thread when it came up initially and am still considering ...

Sorry to hear your experience @ruby2019missyou. I am just starting to exercise from a (very) low base but doing a combination of circuits and couch to 5 k so hopefully will not have the same problems.
