Runna App

I seriously need a goal so have signed up for a flat 10k in late March-currently can run 5k in about 38 minutes.
A friend has recommended Runna to help. I know it's all about willpower and motivation (which come from within!) but has anyone had any success with this app? And any other tips? Thank you x

Following with interest as I've been wondering if it's worth the money.

I've used the Garmin plans as I have a Garmin watch and they're free. They're ok, they help keep me focused.

One thing I find helps is cross training - I do some decent leg exercises on the gym.

I use the Runna and I love it. The workouts are personalised and it’s easy to tailor them to your week when you set up the programme. It guides you through the workouts so you can just focus on the running and there are Pilates and strength guides you can use as well. Absolutely worth the money xx

Thanks, good to hear. Is there a basic version of Runna that I could try before committing to paying for it?

Sign up for the free trial period, before you decide to subscribe. I think it was for a month.

It is very structured, and tailored to what you can currently manage and your target time. I used it for the London Marathon during the free trial, but the workouts were very intensive, for example 7×800m at faster than 5k pace in week 1.

If you have a Garmin, the there will be training plans there and you can select time.or completion goals for distances up to half marathon.

Runna is much harder than Garmin though!
