Feeling ill if don't exercise

I wondered if others feel like this too. At the moment, I swim and sauna most mornings (5/7).

I've only been doing this for 6 months to get fit. Before i didn't do much targeted activity, just walking and housework etc. I would feel OK everyday regardless of exercise levels

Now, on a non swim day, I feel off all day. Often getting headaches, nausea, feeling tired, a little dizzy, shivery. It's not severe like having an actual illness but it is mild <malaise? >.

I feel mentally sharp and normal if I swim.

Yesterday (a non-swim day), it was worse than normal. I felt more ill throughout the day, reducing productivity, ended with a headache, hard to see and an early bedtime.

I'm 18 months postpartum, overweight and still breastfeeding. I've developed a tummy that is likely caused by hormones, so this could be related. My job is stressful.

Has anyone else experienced this?

the easy answer is to just exercise everyday to feel normal. But because it's not right, a part of me is questioning if there is something more serious wrong and the exercise is masking a problem I would otherwise go to the Dr about. The good thing is it's increasing my activity levels

Hmmm, I've not heard of this, and even a quick Google search didn't bring anything up. Bumping for you

I am similar to this and just put it down to endorphins and the sense of release I get in my body after movement. I run and go to the gym and have done for 20+ years. I feel x10 better on those days and although I can have a few days off, anything more than 3 days and my body aches, I feel glum and am generally not as nice to be around. That’s when my husband practically pushes me out the door for a run!

I get stressed if I don't exercise and am not ill. My HRV will take a dip and if I did not know better I might assume I should rest due to that. If you are the same and your job is already stressful then maybe that is what is causing the problem?

I feel very twitchy if I don't exercise. I am quite an anxious person and know that exercise really helps with this. I love the buzz.
Anxiety and stress can manifest itself physically so maybe you have that?

I definitely understand what you’re saying. Although walking on my commute or a brisk walk after work if WFH can be enough to stave this off, I can’t stand it if I’ve had a day with no exercise at all. I feel a lot better 99% of the time for a good work out!

I definitely feel better if I do something before work.
I think its partly to do with the increase in circulation, it gets everything moving.
I feel more awake and ready to face the day. I am then more cheerful and better at dealing with whatever stress comes my way

It is often the only thing I do all day which is just because I want to, and I think starting the day with that helps. Pretty much everything else is work in one way or another.

If I don't do anything it can be hard to get rid of general lethargy and meh. If I can't be arsed with the exercise I can't really be arsed with anything else.
