Functional fitness class

Does anyone do a class like this?

I belong to a private weight specific gym and swim at the local leisure centre or outdoors (swimming is my priority). I also do yoga at home. I can’t afford a PT and I’m following the book ‘lift like a girl’ which is excellent but I’m noticing a lot of the programme uses body weight / dumbbells and these are the exercises I enjoy the most and also find the trickiest.

Theres a studio near me that does classes in functional fitness and also various yoga and Pilates and calisthenics. It’s much pricier than the gym but also only 15 mins drive, the gym is 35 mins.

Would a functional fitness class build strength and protect my bones? I’d like to work up to joining the calisthenics class too - is this good for bone health?

thanks!

Most gyms will give you a free day pass or a trial class - so why not try?
