Mini steppers

Im thinking of getting one. I’m overweight and lazy. I want to up my step count but I have a million reasons why I can’t get my butt out of the house and walk.

has anyone had one and used it with good results or is it destined to become a door stop?

Personally I find mini steppers really tough on the knees. Get a walking pad/ under desk treadmill instead

I have mini steppers and think they're great. Very tough on the knees at first, but soon get used to them.

Thing is .. a mini stepper doesn't replicate the natural walking stride . You're just kind of going up and down whilst putting loads of pressure on your knees instead of the pressure being evenly distributed throughout your legs. They are much cheaper than a walking pad but I think the extra investment is worth it especially in terms of step count and being able to speed up/ down .

I'd rather put on a short video like Get Fit with Rick which is much more interesting, and has much more range of functional motion.

Thanks all - really I should just get off butt and leave my house. Hadn’t thought of the extra pressure on my legs, I’ve had back problems in the past linked to tight calves and thighs so a stepper might exacerbate that.
