Running shorts/ leggings

I run, and enter 5 and 10k events. So far I am running in leggings (mainly Swetty Betty ones) but it is proving too hot.

I’ve got some shorts, or those sorts with the cycling pants underneath but i got massive Chubb rub despite using Glide on the tops of my legs.

I need to avoid the rubbing on my inner thighs (I am overweight).

Can anyone recommend some running pants that are breathable, cooling and wont ride up my thigh so I don’t rub.

I wear the Sweaty Betty 9in power shorts, anything shorter I find rides up.
I detest any shorts with an under short. They don’t work for me.
i also like a 5in classic running short with just the built in pants, not with the inside short. I’ve an SB pair but they don’t make them like they used to

I run and fluctuate in size. When slim, yes sure proper tiny running shorts are best for summer. But when heavier, they will either bunch up, or if you go shorter, allow for chub rub. While not as cooling, I can recommend Bara shorts. They do not roll up or down and are long enough to cover the rubbing area. https://barasportswear.com/collections/shorts-skirts/products/shadow-shape-shorts

How about a running skirt? The kind with integral shorts. I find they don't do the bunching up and rubbing in the same way as shorts with cycling shorts under so.

I hate the 2in1 kind, the overshorts always bunch up round my fanny

I wear tight ones with pockets - the more pockets the better

Brands I've had success with - kalenji (Decathlon), Nike, New Balance

lululemon shorts don't budge

I’ve just bought shorts from Oysho. They fit like leggings but are shorts and come in different lengths. Love them so far, I buy the compressive ones as they suck the tummy in a bit and don’t move and I’ve been out rowing in them several times now.

I have the same issue so I got some gymshark pocket shorts, they do still ride up but nowhere near as much so my thighs don't rub together. I ran a 10K in them at the weekend and came out unscathed. They have 2 pockets as well so even better!!

Only downside is limited colours.
