Running earphones - awareness type

I know Shokz is very popular, but I would prefer the hook over the ear type earphones rather than a band that goes all the way round your head.

I've been having a browse and these from JLab are currently on sale on their website.

They are also available on Argos, but at full price. Does anyone have these who would recommend them? If you have something similar, then do you rate yours?

Thanks.

I love my Shokz and find them pretty comfortable. Can't comment on the JBuds but being able to hear when running/cycling is great

It looks like Shokz also have two single hook overthe ear type buds, one model , Openfit Air is priced £119 and the other at £179.

The first ones linked don't look like open ones? Look like in ear anyway?

The shokz ones look good.

I have a traditional (round the head) pair that are still going strong after 6 years!

OrlandointheWilderness · 25/06/2024 12:44

I use aftershockz bone conduction ones for awareness.

OrlandointheWilderness · 25/06/2024 12:46

and clearly thats what you are on about and they've rebranded since I got mine years ago!!!

AuntieStella · 26/06/2024 15:23

The ones you link look like they're in ear, not bone conduction.

Shokz do the OpenFit, which are the individual ones. Other companies now do bone-conductors as well.

I have Shokz OpenRun and am very happy with them (not the style you're after). I wouldn't go back to in ear ones for running now - it's much safer if you can hear what's going on around you.

Thanks for your comments. I'm basically looking for a pair that I can wear one at a time.

They don't have to be bone conducting but I'd like ones that have awareness audio if that males sense. Also, if dd were to do C25K with me again, I'd like us to have one piece each to follow the app together but also chat to each other.

I'm going to look a bit more into the Openfit Air pair, as they seem to be what I'm after.
