In the past few weeks I’ve got back into exercise, built it up but am now doing 3x structured gym sessions (1 is group PT)and 3-5x gym classes a week (circuits, LBTs, hiit, kettlebells and the occasional cardio class). I work shifts so it varies. I have at least one rest day a week.
I am not overweight but when I lost 4 stone (maintained since) a few years ago I did it too quickly and had a poor diet so I think lost / didn’t gain muscle. I am still in a slight cal defecit but eating way more protein.
Now I am trying to lose body fat and build muscle but am unable to lift weights due to injuries / medical conditions. I am also enjoying exercise significantly more than ever before for my mental health.
I do home Pilates / Yoga as can’t find a class that fits my schedule locally but am thinking of doing couch to 5k again. I also do open water swimming / dipping but that’s not strenuous.
Any suggestions appreciated, there is a few classes at my gym I’ve not yet tried and will try out and will probably incorporate a home kettlebell / dumbbell workout.
