Sweaty hair advice please!

If you exercise daily, what do you do about your hair? Especially those with thick, long hair that takes an age to dry and style.

I am exercising 6 times each week and I look awful more often than not because my hair is simply a disgusting, frizzy mess. Either because it has been washed and not styled properly (ran out of time) or because it was all sweaty from the gym and needs a wash. The hairline is my problem area.

I tried a stretchy headband once but it did not stay on properly - open to recommendations if anyone uses a particularly good one.

You are not alone 😀. MY hair is short but this is an issue for me after some classes that are very sweaty so I have to wash it. The women with long hair wear it in a very tight pulled back ponytail or bun, sometimes with a headband too.

Thank you. The majority of classes I do are very sweaty so I get into the cycle of no point washing today because it will be destroyed tomorrow and when I do wash, don’t bother styling for same reason but I look like a permanent mess.

Some wear caps but I find my whole head sweats under that so worse than not wearing where it’s just my hairline affected

If anyone uses headband and can recommend, please do.

I have the same problem. It wasn't so bad when I used to run as I didn't sweat too much and the fresh air seemed to help, but now my exercise is mainly on a spin bike my hairline always seems to get so sweaty. I wash my hair every other day as it's greasy but I do find that dry shampoo helps a bit to make it look less lank.

I definitely do not have thick or long hair but workout daily.

I tie it back in what would be a high pony if there was more of it but more like a little knot! I pin my fringe back using kirby grips, sort of quiff style but flatter and use a couple of clips for the wispy bits at the back.

Some classes are super sweaty and I'll need to wash my hair regardless but for less intense classes, the above does the job.

Looks like I may have to resort to washing most days, was really hoping there was a solution I didn’t know about!

I find that using a hairband makes it more sweaty. I train a lot but don’t like washing my hair too often and I put some dry shampoo in, give it a quick blast with the dryer and brush it out, that makes my hair look good without washing it. Might be worth trying it if you haven’t already.

I sometimes just wash with conditioner if I've had to wash it several days running, which is quicker and seems to stop it getting too dry.

I keep meaning to ask this. I’m washing daily at the moment and it’s really not doing my hair any good but I go straight to work from the gym so can’t not wash it.

Bumble and Bumble do a post workout dry shampoo mist.
I wear a buff type headband, meaning not just a thin band, but more fabric to soak up sweat. I change it mid way through for sweatier classes.

I don't have a fringe or layers around the front so that I can tie it all back, I have a low pony with a parting so it looks smart for work. Using dry shampoo BEFORE w a workout should help avoid the frizz as it will absorb the moisture before the frizz kicks in

I am so sorry, this thread completely disappeared from my list and I didnt see the replies. So I tried looking for ways to make a nicer ponytail that hides the grease - so far I have not achieved this! Still looking like a mess most of the week. Will try the Bumble & Bumble shampoo and put it before the cardio workouts to see if it helps
