Average runner wanting to build strength..at home!

Over the past couple of years I have started to run as a way to get fitter (while balancing family work/stuff)..while I have stuck with it (which I am pretty chuffed about) I need to stretch myself physically and mentally! I have signed up for a half marathon in July but I really need to build my strength up. Due to lots of reasons I am looking for a programme that I can do from home...can anyone recommend anything online? I have some small weights and resistance bands but no other equipment-I can invest in a little bit of equipment but not much. Thanks

Try the Kim Saha YouTube channel.

If you scroll right through, you'll find some that are specifically targeted for runners. Or you could just do any of the others that take your fancy.

She's an ex-England Athletics physio, btw

I agree Kim Saha is very good and has lots of videos on Youtube. She was recommended by my son's athletics coach.

I use SCY Runners - strength conditioning and yoga for runners - you get a 30 minute strength session and a 30 minute yoga session a week, plus all the other sessions so you can work your way through the back catalogue. It is £99 a year or £9.99 a month. It is provided by Carla Molinaro who is a 50k world champion, and is a qualified coach and yoga teacher.

You could also look at Dynamic Runner which offers stretching, mobility and strength session as well as injury prevention sessions. It is £67 a year. It is a Canadian offering.
