Has anyone tried Pvolve?

As the title says, has anyone given it a go? It popped up on my Instagram and apparently is Jennifer Aniston's workout of choice these days, just curious if anyone has tried it and could give me an idea of whether it's any good or not?

I tried it during lockdown, as I was desperate to do something at home.

It's a mix of barre and pilates but more technical - it helps if you have their full kit but I didn't. Quite enjoyed it as it does give you the small muscle activation work, but I then moved away from it as I went back to the gym and lift heavy.

If you like pilates/barre type exercise then you'll like it.

@IDontLikePinaColadas Did you pursue it?

I’m also wondering whether to try it!

IDontLikePinaColadas · 31/05/2024 08:57

I did, yes! I really like it - much prefer the slower more focused stuff than the cardio side of it, but I’m noticing a difference in my tone, and my back is definitely much better than it was.

Thanks @IDontLikePinaColadas Did you purchase the basic bundle of equipment and is that all you need to get started?

I’m worried about doing the movements wrong given they seem to need to be so precise?

I like trying new trends but always go back to “Strong women stay slim” exercises with weights. It’s a bit old hat now but I always feel energised when I do them and it keeps me trim.

I am looking into trying pvolve as I really need something I'm going to stick with and get me toned. Has anyone tried it recently i would love to hear any reviews?

IDontLikePinaColadas · 21/02/2025 21:44

Oh I love it! Especially now it has the heavier weights element to it too. Been doing it for a while now and swear by it. Definitely try the no equipment beginner stuff first to really get the form down - once you have that nailed move onto the more advanced stuff.

Thank you, @IDontLikePinaColadas. I have just signed up and I am going to try the no equipment classes first . Like you say I need to master form first. Where do you watch it ? I've downloaded the app on my phone and was hoping to cast on to the TV but the option does not come up on the screen.

IDontLikePinaColadas · 22/02/2025 07:30

@Mollylolly really? That’s odd. It’s in the top right hand corner for me. I do it on my laptop when I’m travelling as well which works well.

@IDontLikePinaColadas yes the casting thing is there but it isn't highlighted so I can't press on it . I'm in UK are you ? I'm wondering if I need a special app on my TV. Other than that I will just need to follow on my laptop.

Yeah I’m UK too and always works for me. How odd. On a laptop is actually really good as you can move it to where you need to see it - I don’t have a massive amount of space and have to be at different angles of the room for different exercises so I often use it instead so I can always see the screen.

@IDontLikePinaColadas hi yes I used the laptop tonight. Omg that was intense I could feel my glute burn. I do yoga and thought I wouldn't feel the burn as much but boy I was wrong! I'm hoping this really tones me up.
Have you noticed some positive changes?

IDontLikePinaColadas · 22/02/2025 20:25

Oh my arse muscles for the first few weeks were on fire! When I first started I thought it was for the birds and the next day my muscles seriously felt it. What I have really noticed is my back is so much better. I have recently upped the weights they use as well for hand weights to increase my upper body strength. I’m not Jennifer Aniston yet but it’s definitely changing my body and not killing me whilst I do it.

@IDontLikePinaColadas have you bought any of the equipment yet? If so where did you purchase from ? It seems really expensive.

Yes but you definitely don’t need everything from them. The p-ball and the p 3 trainer are the only things I think you can’t really replicate with anything else - although I really don’t think they’re make or break; you can adapt the exercises quite easily with what you have/ don’t have. Simple ankle weights, resistance bands, etc are just as good.

There’s a Facebook community group that sometimes has stuff for sale - it’s pretty US focused but sometimes stuff comes up over here (assuming you’re UK/based).

@IDontLikePinaColadas Hi, yes I think I will probably purchase the p ball and p3 in a few weeks once I get used to some of the exercises. Just completed my second session and I really thought I wasn't going to be able to keep going, the bum burn is hellish but hopefully so worth it. And I can really feel my inner thighs working which is my problem area. Its tough but its exactly what I need . Oh and I joined the Facebook group but still waiting to be accepted .
