Runna App, Garmin or something else?

Hi everyone, just wondering if any of you use the runna app or an alternative?

I currently do a hybrid training split - weightlifting, running, and functional work.

I'm confident with the weights and functional work and have done these for years but running I'm less knowledgeable about.

I can run 5km in 30 minutes and I'm very interested in improving by doing a 3 day split, 1 long run, 1 easy run, and 1 speed/tempo session.

Would Runna App be worth the £15 per month, I've also seen some people say Garmin have training plans. I currently have a fitbit but if the training plans are good and included free with the watch I'd consider purchasing a new one.

Any thoughts?

I've been using Runna to build up to half marathon distance from 10k. I really rate it. Lots of influencers have 2 weeks free codes so you could always try it.

The Garmin app does have training plans and also most garmin devices have suggested workouts each day based on any upcoming events and goals you put in the calendar. It also takes into account your other stats like other activity youve recorded, sleep etc. I've used both of these, but prefer the clearer structure that Runna offers now I have a specific target in mind. That may just be the app being very easy and clear to use, also it works better for me as I can manage my own expectations about what is upcoming.

@DCINightingale thanks so much. I have downloaded the app and have a preview of the first weeks plan and it looks great! The monthly fee seems expensive but I can totally see it working I was just hoping I guess there might be a cheaper alternative 😅

The main thing I like the look of it the usability as you say, and the fact it outlines specific pacing for me to use which I struggle with currently.
