Let's hope for another safe race. Maybe a woman can finish for the first time and hopefully there'll be a handful of Brits to cheer on. Although tbh, I'll cheer on anyone crazy enough to attempt it.

The resurrection of this thread makes me wonder when the conch will be blown for the 2025 Barkley Marathons. Am I right that it is the weekend nearest 1st of April? Wonder if Jasmin will return?!

spart I think it's flexible. They don't want too many people turning up so don't stick to the same weekend.

Not exactly any way near the Berkeley but the tickets for Marathon due medoc are so secretive to get hold off .
Basically they go on sale on a date in March...what date they won't tell you
They go on sale at any random time ...which they won't tell you
They may or may not do a second release...they won't tell you if they plan to
They may release this second wave but ...what date they won't tell you
They release the name be second wave at a random time ..they won't tell you .

Get this gist...you basically have to log into the website and refresh every 10 mins...
For the whole of March or until the tickets go on sale...it's nerve shredding and worse than getting Taylor Swift tickets

Unlikely - apparently the reason she was so determined last year is because if she didn't finish, she'd have to come back 😂

According to the website The Frozen Head campsites are apparently out of action this year. IIRC people sussed out the BM weekend last year by noticing the busy weekend.

I wonder if any of last years finishers will be back. John and Jared were already finishers. Greg seems quite low key. Ihors might try again I guess. Jasmine said she won't.

I wonder if Damian Hall will attempt it again. He is a 'green runner' so perhaps the air miles to get there would put him off but I'd love to see him finish it.

I think he needs to improve his navigation, it's what let him down in previous years. But he's dropped inov8 in favour of NNormal so maybe flying for races is something he's not going to do any more.

I guess you can't be great at everything!

In recent years you could guesstimate the start of Barkley by seeing Damian and John vanish off Strava. But they know people have clocked on now and I'm not sure either of them will do it this year.

It's basically JK's local race though so maybe. Last year was such a good race.

They set off in 40 mins. Conch has been blown.....

Looks like a particularly tough course this year.

Keith is also posting on bluesky so I am saved from any twitter/X madness.

Looks like the course is winning though. Only 10 completed loop 1 within the time limit with 9 continuing to loop 2.

I think the only person confirmed as starting loop 2 is Tomo (Japanese Laz)?

I'm going to take a wild guess haha and assume JK, Aurelien, Sebastian are also out there
