Help me re-find my mojo

I'll start by saying I exercise because I feel I have to. I have never enjoyed it.

My normal routine is run 5k 3x a week, 2x YouTube strength exercises session. All before work.

My calf muscle strained a fortnight ago. This was a great excuse to not do my exercise. It's now 95% better, so I need to get back on the exercise horse.

However, I just can't motivate myself to do it. I'm currently in bed with a cup of coffee having an extra long lie in, instead of doing my YouTube routine. This has gone on for the past 4 days. The alarm was set, but the body has stayed in bed.

Help me get my mojo back please.

I know you don't want to shower beforehand but just getting up and walking into the shower might give you the wake up and motivation you need.

Play some fast music to motivate you to move

Remind yourself why you want to exercise and how you feel afterwards - think about the buzz and how good your mind and body feel after a run/work out and how it sets you up for the day.

I don't get a buzz though, nor have a good feeling mind and body because of exercise. I just think "job 1 done" and move on with the day.

You're right about the shower @NisekoWhistler Tbh, if I bothered to get out of bed to shower, I'd just get dressed into work clothes. And my children wouldn't appreciate the loud music at 5.15am @LordBummenbachsMagnificentBalls

Sorry, I don't mean to trash your ideas. I am thankful for your input. I just know none of them are the solution.

Ha. I have never had mojo to exercise. The only time I've done it is when I've signed up to classes or done team sports where I would let people down if I didn't show. Could that be an option? (Appreciate v different do being to do it at home).

I do everything after work. I’m already up so no excuse!

I'm just too tired after work. I started off doing exercise in the evenings, but kept going to bed instead of exercising at 7pm. I switched to the mornings several years ago to try to get the motivation up and it worked. It's just getting it back!

Returning to evenings is a definite no go for me!

An out of the box idea worth considering... Maybe a change up is needed.

Run done.

I just needed to eat a few chocs yesterday.

Subconscious kicked in and told me to counteract their effect.

Recording for the next time this happens!

Thanks all for your thoughts
