Here are my top tips (you may have tried all these already).

  1. when sitting/standing/sleeping try not to let your painful leg go across your midline. So pillow between knees with painful hip uppermost when sleeping. Sit with both feet on the floor and gap between knees. Keep equal weight through both feet when standing (don’t rest on the painful side).
  2. buttock strengthening. this is a good one. But there are loads of videos out there, just make sure your knee doesn’t cross your midline.
  3. ice to the outer hip regularly. 4)reduce aggravating activities for a while, often this is walking, until glutes are stronger.

I did have an extremely painful hip bursitis this time last year. The pain was really awful
my sports therapist lady did tell me to take turmeric and black pepper capsules (I got mine from Holland and Barrett) as a anti inflammatory

I did take 1 a day for a couple of months and the exercises and within 4 months was a lot better but was noticeable better a couple of weeks after stating the capsules (just in case that helps cos I know how painfuls this be)

Watching to get some tips. Mine has been so sore lately

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 28/01/2024 20:05

I take turmeric and glucosamine and do Dr Jo on YT when mine flares up.

Well I've just started taking magnesium vitamins.

With the flare ups, does it ever make your back sore too?

The band exercises like a pp has posted above me

the biggest difference was taking the turmeric and black pepper though. I went from no being able to walk at all and considering going to the hospital to ask for crutches to being able to move my leg 🦵 much better in just a Paiute 3 weeks
