Bucket handle meniscus tear?

Anyone has a bucket handle meniscus tear??

mri results have come through saying I have the above, along with a grade 2 mcl sprain (partial rupture)

im incredibly active normally and am not sure how I’m going to get through the next few weeks of the ‘rest it’ ‘elevate it’ etc.

Also, I’ve you’ve had this injury..did you need crutches to aid recovery?

Unhelpfully, I had 'bucket handle tear' that was decades old by the time it was diagnosed and I opted for treatment because of the associated problems.

I had some surgery to trim it and did my rehab exercises without fail, as per the recommended schedule.

I didn't need crutches. Had my full range of motion return in <10 days.

In an active person under 30 a bucket handle is sometimes repaired, otherwise removed (keyhole). It won't heal on its own, and the issue happens when it flips into the knee and causes locking

I had this, had keyhole operation which was a success. I didn't need crutches, A/E gave me a set, when I went for ortho appt, they took them off me

Thanks so much for your replies.

im limping around currently and seeing ortho on Thursday. Hoping for prp injections instead of surgery but we shall see. Just want to get back to running asap
