Pes Anserine Bursitis from running

Anyone had Pes Anserine Bursitis/tendinitis?

my consultant suspects this, and I’m waiting for the mri results to confirm.

my knee is locking on and off, I have swelling, and the pain comes and goes. When it comes, it’s insane!

my consultant said I can still run on the condition which is great. So when I’m in a ‘it’s not locking or toooo painful’ moment, I’ve run. However on the weekend I did this and haven’t been able to walk since due to swelling, locking and pain!!

anyone got any advice?? (Other than the obvious..don’t run!)

Oh god yes I had this. It took ages to heal. Like any over use injury it was a case of cutting right back, doing all the right strengthening stuff and stretches. Also taped it.

It did heal though!

What were your symptoms? Did you get knee locking?
The muscles 6 inches above and below my knee are in spasm now too, which is probably causing the most pain now. The medial knee pain has melted into insignificance in comparison

Ok so I had a niggle a few weeks before a marathon. I ignored it at a parkrun and then sort of tapered and just went for it on the day.

It was the stupidest mistake ever. I should never have started and then I should have just pulled out. I couldn't walk.

That was November 2021. I went to minor injuries a few days later as I couldn't walk.

The pain was incredible. It was a physio who diagnosed it. It's an unusual injury.

In terms of symptoms it was pain! I don't think I had knee locking.
