Fitbit premium worth it? Or alternative

Anyone use Fitbit premium? I've just got my old Fitbit working, and can't decide if to sign up for the premium membership or find another fitness app.
So does it help with motivation? I'll often start something then give up.
Are the videos any good for beginners?
I really want to get my fitness sorted out this year, as I'm very overweight and unhealthy. Can't afford gym either in financially or time wise. I'm going to use couch25k app. But currently so unfit I need to get back to walking. I used to walk loads but Ddog had a stroke a year ago, she's still going strong but can't walk far anymore, so I've really dropped down from walking 5+ miles everyday to under 1, it's not just the distance it's also my speed, Ddog is slow now, so I'm back to walking toddler speed, so want to improve my distance and speed.
Things against me: live in very hilly area...great when fit, off putting at current level. Busy road....so walking isn't much fun for first couple of miles, till I get into off road territory. Teeny tiny house so limited space to do stretching exercises, but could jog on the spot....!
Positives ....really really want to do this!
Any advice gratefully received.

I'm seeing a lot of similarities with my own life here. Busy road, very hilly, and it's rural with no lighting so not safe after dark. My Ddog is young and healthy, but doesn't like the rain or the cold and prefers a slow, sniffy walk. So aside from getting me out most lunchtimes for 20-30mins, can't be relied on to be my fitness buddy.

I bought a fitbit this year and had six months of premium included. I wanted it for the sleep tracking. I'm so tired all the time so wanted an easy way to see if my sleep habits were causing a problem. It was great for that, gave me a few things to tweak - still a work in progress but it's definitely better than it was. I didn't renew the premium subscription when it ran out I thought it was pricey for what I needed it for. I looked at the workouts a couple of times, but didn't find them very appealing and it wasn't my focus at that point so I didn't use them.

Now I've got a little more energy I'm contemplating body coach or davina's own your goals to see if something more convenient and specifically for workouts will help me get into better habits. I've been looking through other people posts to see what other people are using. Looks like Caroline Girvan is very popular, and loads of people use free videos on you tube. Could you be self motivated enough to use an app one - and if the answer to that is yes, then free youtube videos might be just as good. Or would a paid app give you a bit more structure and motivation?

good luck with whatever you decide.
