New Fitbit - Inaccurate Exercise HR

I've had 4-5 Fitbits but recently broke mine (Versa 2) and bought the Versa 4 to replace it.

I have a rebounder (mini trampoline), and my HR reliably gets into the 160s with all previous Fitbits. I don't manually log any exercise, and it automatically detects the change in HR. I'm reasonably sure it's accurate. Even if it's not actually 160bpm, I could trust that it recognised I was actually exercising iyswim.

The Versa 4 refuses to go above about 110 no matter what I do. It basically thinks I'm just walking. Looking at the Fitbit forums, this seems to be a widespread issue. FB say they've updated the sensor, but people have done comparisons wearing both the Versa 4 and a (more accurate) chest strap HR sensor, which indicates the FB is wrong. I have tried manually setting a workout but it makes no difference.

My DM still has a V2 - so I wore both and it tracked my usual 160+ HR, the V4 barely got above 90.

It's almost impossible to get a Versa 2 now (apart from ebay and dispatched from China...).

Does anyone have a fitness watch with a semi-reliable exercise HR tracker? It's taken all the fun and motivation out of exercise for me Sad

Budget?

I think every Garmin will do this, and you can synch with (free) Connect app and examine your data until the cows come home.

(Hope you can return the new Fitbit as unfit for purpose)

That's weird. Fitbit & others all use the same technology to track HR, optical sensors. So sounds like the algorithm is completely faulty (the software) in Versa 4.

I'm still happy with my fitbit charge3, but I guess it's not what you want to hear.

There are tonnes of 2nd hand Versa 2s on ebay, in UK, for good prices.
