best way (device/app) to record walking

I am planning a long challenge walk this year that I will need to do in sections (it is over 600 miles). What do you think the best way is to record it? I have a fitbit versa 3 but not sure what I could link it to. I have used map my walk in the past on my phone which is good. I quite like the Strava style report my running friends share as it also shows the elevations (my walk will be very hilly so I would like to share my pain with my sponsors!). TIA

If you like Strava, then link it to Strava!

Especially as your friends have it, so they can see what you're up to (remember to set your security to "followers only"). I have the basic, free Strava; there is also paid Premium which will give you lots more data to examine. Ant you can record your activities as either walk or hike (but do have a browse through the list of sports they recognise as they're a lot and there might be other stuff you want to record.

Another one that does similar is Runkeeper

Or you could get a Garmin, and get lots of data to examine on the (totally free) Garmin Connect app. The watches might do more than you need them to though! But some have a built in map function which might be handy - you can link it to route plotting apps like Gaia - but remember to take a back up map in case all your tech dies!

Fitbit can link to Strava automatically.
