The ones that measure ( allegedly ) bmi water percentage etc..

How accurate actually are they and how does one interpret the results when there's no display of healthy range etc

Does anyone know what constitutes good and bad on these things ?

Is it the Boditrax machine?
You enter your email in and download the app - then you can access your stats and it’ll happily tell you where you should be, and compare you to people the same age as you.

I have no idea how accurate it is (that's a great question).
When I’m losing fat and gaining muscle I think it’s very accurate, when I’m losing muscle and gaining fat I fully believe it’s not very accurate at all.

Not that accurate according to the guy at the gym!

Whatwouldscullydo · 29/12/2023 08:07

Its similar although my gym has the core vue one not the boditrax but it probably does the same thing. There is an app for it but I probably won't bother downloading as its 2 pound a scan and well as I said the results are kinda meaningless to me with out some kinda explanation as to what its all supposed to mean and what's good and what's not so good. How is anyone supposed to know what to take from it?

The app tells you what it all means but I don’t think they are that accurate. I’ve got one at home.

How hydrated you are affects the readings far more than it should.

VeronicaBeccabunga · 29/12/2023 08:47

Probs not very accurate, but I like it to plot a general trend away towards less body fat/more muscle density and feel all smug and self-satisfied when the little charts are all in the 'green' sections.

Whatwouldscullydo · 29/12/2023 09:07

Green sections? Oh so the colour rings mean something? I was on red for hydration then that's not good..
