Progress from 5-10K run

Hello
I've signed up to do a 10K run on 11 Feb. I'm at the stage where I can comfortably do 5k in about 35 mins. Does anyone have a programme they would recommend to help me progress to 10K
I'm not worried about doing it within a certain time although I'd love to do it in less than 1hr 15 (I know that's not really very fast) I'd just like to get my stamina up and be as prepared as I can
Thanks

I just gradually increased my distance. No more then 10% per week to help prevent injury.

Your 5k and 10k pace will be different as you'll need to build stamina... just like when you started with 5k.

I found that l needed to do strengthening exercises when l increased my distance to prevent injury

Just gradually increase the distance of your longer run by approx 0.5k a week. You don't necessarily need to have run 10k beforehand; the race day can be the week you run 10k.

I'd agree with doing some sort of strength/core work weekly as well.

There’s a 5-10k app like there is for c25k but it might be for longer than you’ve got time for. That said, if you’re comfortable over 5k it shouldn’t be too hard to get to 6 or 7km. I know there’s guidance about not adding more than 10% a week but for 5 to 10km I’d be tempted to go out and just see how far you can run then build from there!
is it a road or trail race?

Thanks everyone.
It's at a race track so pretty flat apparently

@londonmummy1966 thanks I'll have a look. I'm pretty comfortable with 5k so a good start hopefully!

@Lisbeth50 I like the thought of race day being the 10K day. I just need to get my stamina up. When I do the 5k I often think I could go further so that's a good start I guess!

Just checking back in to say I did it! Today was the run and it was brilliant. 1hr 15ish mins (just waiting for my official time) which I was pretty pleased with to be honest.
I did an 8k then treated today as my 10K as suggested and it was fine although the last 1k felt hard.

Thank you
My official time was 1hr 14min, 24 seconds so just made it!

Going to book another to keep the momentum going.
