Yoga, how long until I can feel an improvement?

Granted it’s only 6 weeks but I still feel like a complete novice.
I’m really enjoying the classes face to face and online twice a week, I like the whole slow process and feelings of calmness but my balance and core strength seem poor.
I do plenty of aerobic exercise and consider myself very fit for a mid fifties women.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

What kind of yoga, and how challenging are you finding the poses?

Some gentle hatha yoga will help with flexibility, etc, but won't do much any time soon for muscular strengthening.

Yes it is Hatha. Some of the poses I find easy and some very challenging, especially the balancing ones.

Balance is a slow burn build, I think. Stick with it and it will help. However, if you have a properly weak core and want to strengthen it quickly, you probably need to do some proper core exercises, maybe weights, or at least a Pilates programme or some ashtanga yoga.
