Fitbit/google issue

Since google have taken over Fitbit and we were forced to log in with a google account (which can not be undone now) their products don't sync. I have an aria scale which will not sync with my luxe Fitbit or app now. They do not care on customer services and fob you off despite all users having this issue. I have two questions:

1. Can I get a refund/sue to get a refund now the google migration has stopped the products fully working?

2. Now my scale won't work and my luxe Fitbit is running out of battery fast, who shall I switch too? I could nick my daughters redundant Apple Watch but it's a bit chunky. Is there a simple step tracker I can use? I have a fancy watch that I'd actually like to wear again, is there a bangle type simple step counter?

What did you decide on the end @treacletoast? I have a Fitbit but not the scales.

Oh interesting. I haven't been forced to sign in with a google account.

I the only thing I can't see is the Fitbit feed. But to be honest not missing much there I assume.

But will def not change now anyway. Hope you got it sorted.

I gave up, cancelled my Fitbit subscription and use the scale like a dumb scale. I put on my dress watch one night for drinks and it's so nice I kept it on. I roughly know when I've done 10k steps so don't bother with a fit bit now.

I thought of this thread yesterday. I had a problem with my Fitbit so deleted and reinstalled.

However I accident chose the charge 6 a instead of charge 5 and it wouldn't let me progress without a google account.

After much swearing I realised i was trying to add the wrong Fitbit and added the 5 without having to have a google account.

So that's it then. Ain't going be buying a Charge 6 when my current Fitbit dies.

So annoying. The hardware is crap anyway, so difficult to charge. But love the software.

Apple Watch no good as needs charge too frequently and I use Fitbit for sleep monitoring too.

Anyway I'll come to that bridge when I get to it.
