Post hysterectomy stomach area

I have recently lost nearly 3 stone with another 1.5 to go. I had put on a lot of weight due to the health issues. I exercise swimming, aerobics and weights.

I had 2 DC naturally and didn’t have issues with my stomach muscles during pregnancy.

I am bottom heavy with most of my weight on my hips and bum. I’ve always had a fairly ok stomach and waist area although the reason I needed a hysterectomy was gigantic fibroids so my lower belly area was very large, 2nd trimester pregnant size for a few years until I had my hysterectomy. He wasn’t able to do keyhole so I had an open. Scar healed great.

After this I have skin in areas I didn’t have before, like an overhang/apron low down in my pelvis? They may call it a FUPA. It’s not too bad at the front but the sides above my hips have new dents where skin overhangs. I’ve got a size 12 waist now but this loose skin is not really going away. Is this a bit of a lost cause and only surgery really fixes it? I feel like I have to strap this area into jeans 😫
