Plus size kit

Could anyone suggest brands for gym kit (especially cropped leggings) in a 18. I sometimes size up to a 20 as I like room to move and my weight is on my thighs/butt.

I have tried all the standard high st, supermarket, sports brands type places, am looking for a brand I may not have though of.

Cost wise I can go above M&S price but I would find sweaty Betty a bit much unless outlet type prices.

Matalan cropped leggings are great.
I have also bought from curvissa but that's mainly for tops rather than leggings

I don't think Sweaty Betty leggings are great. They do feel good, but whenever I catch a glimpse of myself in the gym mirror, I see that they're actually quite see-through, and I wear a size larger than I need to so that there's no chance the fabric is straining.

I always buy Nike leggings, even now that I have lost weight, because when I was larger, I found they were the only ones that were truly not see-through and that were properly designed for larger women who wanted to exercise. The fabric didn't strain, the waistbands didn't roll down, etc.

Nike is expensive but there are sales and there are also items available on Ebay. Good luck.

Thanks both - I have matalan shorts which I quite like but I sort of fancied an upgrade as a bit of an incentive.

I will investigate Nike, thanks. I have had some adidas stuff before and I just felt wrong in it. I'm very short waisted so too thick a band sort of rolls down but too thin doesn't feel secure. Oh the joys.....

Honestly I would stick with M&S. I find them much better quality (and price!) than the big brand names

It's not you. It's that far too many companies that sell plus-size clothes do a horrible job of it. It's still only possible to get decent athletic and outdoor clothing from expensive brands, unfortunately. However, there are sales and items sometimes are offered very cheaply on Amazon.

I've got 3 pairs of M & S goodmove leggings that I wear every day for walking the dogs - they're such good quality and have washed brilliantly. They must be 3 years old at least and are worn daily as they dry so quickly if they get damp in the rain! Not a hole in sight though I did size up so they weren't skin tight.

Sweaty betty has a sale section. I disagree they are see through. The power leggings really aren't.
