Exercise after c-section?

I’m just seeking other mums experiences of exercise after a c-section. Prior to pregnancy I was a keen runner, enjoyed long walks with the occasional weights etc.

I had a planned c-section 10 weeks ago. I took my recovery seriously and did little other than care for my little boy. Gentle walks here and there. Started walking a bit more around 4/5 week mark.

Im now very eager to get my fitness back. I felt my doctor was vague at my 8 week check up but basically said I was ok to start jogging again.

I’m a stone heavier than pre pregnancy and very keen to get this gone!! I’ve started some jogging intervals on the treadmill and I’m walking everyday with the push chair and dog.

How have people found their recovery and building fitness up again after a baby? How long has it taken to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight?

is there any other runners out there?

Took bloody ages as the hormones from breastfeeding really messed about with my joints. I'm now working with a specialist women's physio and will be getting back to running in about another 4 weeks. My child is nearly 4. (Stopped by at 9 mo but then other things got in the way)

Sorry, others will have better stories. Congratulations Flowers

I started light running again at about 10 weeks pp too although my GP cleared me for exercise at 6 weeks. After about 4 months pp, I started going to a mum and baby exercise class twice a week (the kind where you carry your baby and is actually strenuous with weights etc). My main problem with running was fitting it in so I ended up doing a lot more exercise at home than I had anticipated. I bought an exercise bike to keep some element of cardio going.
