Hi. I have just started training for a marathon and think I might invest. Any recommendations? My main concern is that I am large of boob, so need something that can accommodate that!

Check out Ultimate Direction’s women’s range. They’re a bit pricey, but once I put mine on, I barely notice it’s there.

I recently bought a Salomon Activeskin 8 from Amazon (they were on sale). It’s a unisex small so it’s not too restrictive of chest and there’s bungee style cords rather than clips which I find more comfortable and don’t rub. I’ll report back though from a longer run with water in it later in the week.

Ooo could’ve written this myself Op. I too am marathon training, large chested and looking for a vest.

I’ll be watching this with interest.

apparently a ‘no dancing monkey’ vest is good for not bouncing around. Also heard the Solomon is a good choice

I got a Kalenji from decathlon years ago. The straps are fully movable so you can position them around your boots as needed. It never moves at all or rubs and has tons of pockets on the front for gels/ phone/ headphones/ tissues/ painkillers etc. I love it!

*Boobs obv. Don't think you'd want it around your boots!

This one but there's probably a newer version out there now.

This looks great. Loving the front straps…the fact you can move them (according to boobs) seems a winner.

does it move much or is it pretty good?

Have decathlon changed the name of their brand? I can’t find one that’s like the one in the link….

Thanks all. Lots to research!

It doesn't move at all. You're right though I can't find them for sale online or any hydration packs by kalenji at all! I just assumed there'd be a more up to date version but they don't seem to do them at all. I can find the Instagram of brand but they seem to only do trainers and clothing now.

SouthCountryGirl · 31/07/2023 15:49

The Harrier ones are meant to be good.

I found the Salamon just rubbed because despite online saying it should fit, it was still even on the smallest size, too big.

The Ultimate Direction ones are good.

Soconfusedandbroken · 31/07/2023 19:00

I’ve just researched the Salomon ones. It says if you go for a women’s style, they tend to have smaller arm holes. But the unisex are fine. Best recommended is the Salomon active 4.
I think I’m going to order one. Wiggle have 15% off at the moment

Decathlon have a vest in their trail running range Evadict - the 5L or 10l are good for marathon length runs

After that the more expensive ultra packs are better as more space for food/clothes etc

Unisex 5L Black Trail Running Bag - Sold With 1L Water Bladder £24.99 www.decathlon.co.uk/p//R-p-168331?utmsource%3Dmobileapp%26utmmedium%3Dshare%26utmcampaign%3Dproductpage= Evadict

I have the above linked Evadict Decathlon 5L hydration pack. I used it for all my training runs and for my Ultra last weekend.
It's a cheap but well made, highly adjustable pack.
I had my water bladder in the back plus my mandatory kit. In the front I had my phone, two bananas, some Sorreen bars, an emergency gel and some Kendal Mint Cake!
Training with it was great as I could carry food and drink which in turn trained me to fuel well when running.
