Half marathon training plans

Dies anyone have any for beginners? I used to run a lot pre DC (never particularly fast or far! 10k in 55/60 minutes , up to 10 miles 'long' runs)

I've started c25k several st heavier but really getting the bug. I have a 6 wk 10k plan to do afterwards that realistically will take me 8 or 10 weeks.

Are there any good, simple, 3 runs a week half plans? I dont expect to whizz round, I just want to get round.

I couldn’t be arsed with the faff on most plans on pacing so I made my own Grin

1 long slow run, gradually increasing your distance by a km or so each week. 1 short ish recovery run (5km or Parkrun). 1 interval session or some hill reps.

@Flangeosaurus yes, I remember seeing some quite complicated ones. Tbh, I just want to be thinking about how long I'm running for and building it up. I'm a long way off atm, but thinking about trying a half marathon next spring.

The BUPA beginner plan is refreshingly simple, but I do what @Flangeosaurus does!

The runners world ones are really good

The Great North has released 12 week plans this week for different levels.

There are also Eilish McColgan plans on the website.

I started off with Women's Running Beginners plans.

Garmin also has plans that work through the watch. They're more technical, but it's so much easier doing what your watch tells you compared to dealing with written instructions.

I'd look for one with cross-training for the benefits of recovery/ injury prevention.

This months Runners World (August) has a half marathon supplement with beginners and improver’s plans

I'm not following a plan either.
Running 4 times a week
One 5k (Parkrun) and then 3 long runs which at the moment are 8k and 10k.
Increasing my distance every week

Thanks, I'll have a look at the Runners World one, that's where I got my 10k plan from, many years ago!
