Love, love spin but just can't find a suitable scheduled class near me....

So, my next question is: stationary bikes and apps? Those of you who have Peleton/ NordicBike? is it worth it? It's quite a stretch budget wise. I am quite disciplined with exercise so attracted to investing in a good stationary bike and app that has a variety of workouts. I'd love to hear people's experiences...

Ok I LOVE my peloton. I'm a normal person on min wage and would give up a lot of other stuff before my bike
I won't post my code unless you want it but it's £200 off at the minute

The instructors are great, I love being able to finish work and do a class straight away and I've even got back into weights again. It's genuinely the best thing I've ever bought and I can't afford to make purchases that don't get used

Posted too soon. If you want a 60 day app trial (free, gains me nothing) or a discount code (gives me free clothes) then just PM
I got the original bike and a swivel add on for when I'm doing stretches etc

Have you checked Fb marketplace ?

I use a Wahoo Kickr bike with Zwift. It's brilliant and used every day. Zwift has gentle longer base rides, workouts and racing against others in various worlds. There's also a social element with group rides.

Peloton may be better if you're more into the workout aspect and the bike is a tool to do that rather than you love cycling. As you like spinning, this is probably the one to go for.

Both are very expensive but well worth the investment if you plan to do it regularly. Be aware, it's not just the bike and game that cost, you may need to budget for other stuff: fan (must have!), mat, table for laptop (if using Zwift).

Huge peloton fan here too! Love being able to workout whenever it’s convenient for me, the instructors are fantastic and I am finally in a regular exercise routine. It’s expensive but worth every penny to me.

Madamecastafiore · 14/06/2023 06:20

Yep peloton fan here too. I only do short classes to warm up but if you love spin you'll be hooked. You can join the peloton Facebook group and ask if there are and second hand ones going where you live,

Just get a cheap exercise bike and use it while playing speeded up dance music at full volume in a darkened room, while DH yells at you for half an hour. That should roughly replicate the experience. Warn the neighbours, though.

Thanks everyone for getting back to me. So, I'm hearing peleton only good with peleton suscription but perhaps getting hold of a cheaper bike and getting the peleton suscription for the workouts?

Peloton is good without a Peloton bike too. I've been using the app with a JTX Cyclo 6 since Sep 2020 and love it. I am probably going to upgrade to a Peloton bike eventually.

Another peloton fan here as well - absolutely love it. Great variety of classes and it's got me back into yoga as well!

Having the peloton bike has been worth it for me - I really love the metrics and that sort of thing motivates me, but I do appreciate it isn't the cheapest option by a long way.

Snowpaw · 20/06/2023 14:36

I found Peloton really expensive. I bought a Keiser bike second hand and use Spinstream now - its much more affordable. Less "frills" than Peloton but the workouts are really tough and effective.
