Hoka trainers size help

Hi. I’m looking for a new pair of running trainers and think I’ve decided on the Hoka Clifton after some research. I’m really confused about sizing though. I’ve read that you need to size up, but some say half a size and others say 1.5 sizes. I’m usually a 4.5.

I’m also not sure if I need the wide ones. I definitely don’t have narrow feet, but they’re not wide either.

Does anyone here have a pair and able to advise? I haven’t found anywhere with free returns yet, and there’s no shops nearby where I can try them.

Thank you :)

Cliftons I go one size up

Challengers (the trail shoe) I was OK with 0.5 up.

I think 1.5 up is going to be too much

If you usually wear normal width shoes, then I don't think you'd need wide fit.

I went 1.5 up (don't know the name of them) and it's perfect. I love their laces that never seem to come undone.

I’m just returning a pair which are too big. I got wide AND went up a full size. Trying again with just a half size more.

Half size up.

Thanks all. Appreciate the quick replies. Bit of a mix! I think I’ll go one size up, so regular 5.5.
