What exercise/workouts to do alongside running?

As in the title - now I’ve managed to nail down a running habit (2-3 times a week, training for a 10k in summer and a half marathon in autumn), I’ve read that doing other workouts can help to improve your running/fitness and Im looking for ideas. Ideally something I can do online/at home with minimal equipment, what would you suggest? Thanks 😁

I did the 30 day yoga with Adriene thing on YouTube and by the end of it I felt much more balanced when running, especially off road.

If you search “strength training for runners “ on YouTube you’ll find lots of options- I saw the James Dunne ones recommended somewhere and they’re quite good.

I always offer it but PM me if you want a 60 day peloton code
There's yoga and strength for runners, bodyweight, barre, whatever you want on the app really and some runs too if you wanted a change
You just click strength, filter by strength for runners and the classes are all there

YouTube has loads of exercise routines for runners. You can't go wrong with squats!

My physio recommended these for strengthening glutes / periformis which are key to balanced running:

I also love Lindsay - she uses dumbbells but you could just do body weight

Yoga:

Power yoga is my favourite for strength / cardio

Oh I don't know what happened there

Physio recommended the Brazilian booty for glutes and piriformis which are key running muscles

Lindsay from Nourish Move Love has loads of different workouts - she uses weights but you can just do body weight.

Yoga is brilliant to help strengthen legs and improve core balance

I need to get back into the habit of doing a bit of yoga.
I swim 1x a week (not helpful if you need to do it from home!), go on the static bike 1/2 times a week, and do 2 strength workouts a week (nothing arduous), and that could easily be done from home. Helps prevent injury too

Skipping is a good way to tone the ankles and good fun!
