Treadmill - couch to 5k or walking up hill?

I've joined a gym - mainly for the weightlifting class (I'm 57) which I do twice a week. I'd like to go twice more to do cardio. I hate running and prefer the idea of walking up an incline (the 12.3.30 workout appeals but I think too hard to start with). Which would be preferable? Would walking burn as many calories (I've got to lose 10lbs)?
