Let's Talk About Socks

With the weather getting warmer, I need to invest in some more lightweight running socks. The ones I'm currently using are great for when it's colder, but just come back from 5k and my feet felt like they were on fire.

Has anyone any recommendations for any wicking lightweight running socks that I don't need to remortgage my house to buy?

I like the ones from Sports Shoes

Injini toe socks all the way - take a bit of getting used to but never had a blister since I've started wearing them (even on a 50k ultra)

I’m a big fan of Balega socks. The ‘hidden’ ones work well for me when it’s warmer and I’m wearing shorts or capris.

I only run in Thyo Double Trek socks, as I need double-skinned to keep running with dishydrotic eczema, but they are also brilliant at regulating temperature and I wear them all through the French heatwave summers we're getting more and more.

Have a look at Versus. They do some really funky patterns if that matters to you, but mainly their socks are just very good. I’m mostly a cyclist so I use their long cycling socks, but I also run in them, good cushioning on the base of the foot and toes, but very breathable uppers.

I don't get on with Decathlon socks (it's about the only thing they do that don't work for me)

My favourites are Stance. They do various thicknesses, and both fairly plain ones and absolutely garish

I don't think there's that much difference in quality/suitability of the main running brands. So I pick the (loud) ones I like.
