Fitbit inspire 2

I’ve started back in the gym recently and bought myself a Fitbit inspire 2 in order to track my heart rate.

I understand both the gyms equipment and my fit bit will give different heart rate readings and obviously nothing will give me a completely accurate reading however tonight the treadmill was showing my heart rate at 175bpm and the fit bit was displaying 120bpm. This is quite a way out and considering I was running the 175bpm is likely to be more accurate.

Has anyone else had similar problems with the Fitbit inspire 2 or is it just standard that they don’t provide the most accurate heart rate readings?

Thanks!

I have no idea but mine seriously over estimates my steps when I’m pottering around.

What happens if you (old school) stop & take your pulse? Which one (treadmill or inspire) is closer to the manual reading?

Inspire apparently has an optical sensor, same as most the fitbit devices. Mine is quite accurate compared to a Polar or Garmin chest strap monitor. I totally believe my fitbit, probably more accurate than the Polar ever was.

How does a treadmill measure your heart rate, are you wearing a chest strap when on the treadmill?
