Go in and half arse it. Once you’ve started you might do more, if not you’ve done more than you would have sat in the car.

You're there now, may as well go in. Say to yourself that you'll do 15 mins and once you get going you'll probably do the full time.

Well done! I swim and the hardest part about going swimming, is going swimming. I have to bargain with myself.

"I only have to put my kit on and get there, if I change my mind once I'm there it's fine"

"I only have to get in the water, if I want to get out I can"

" I only have to swim 2 lengths, if I hate it after that I can get out"

After two lengths my body is happy, warm and ready to swim another 38! But those first two take so much persuasion.
