Hip impingement

I've had a painful hip for last few months, likely hip impingement (under investigation by physio recently). I can workout at gym but it niggles after sitting and sometimes catches me unaware when I stand and twist (sharp pain which makes me hobble around).
Physio has suggested some general stretches and strengthening exercises. I'll persevere with these and would be interested to hear of any experience of recovery 🤞 that people have had (timescale / what helped) TIA

I have had a kind of impingement since October. I get a snapping across the front of my hip and into my tihgh. It happens if I walk quickly, not really when I am just walking around. Sometimes there is a tingling and general aches. What I am finding helpful are daily hip stretches and massage right into the side of the affect hip- all over, front, sides and back.

I saw a physio who reduced the pain then sent me to a joint specialist where I had an MRI followed by a steroid injection. That reduced the pain enormously. I finally got rid of it with doing lifts with 10kg ankle weights.
