I keep wavering on the checkout button. Interested in using it as a 28-day challenge. Has anyone tried it? Something is niggling at me about it and would prefer to hear reviews from established MNetters.

Hi OP. Did you subscribe in the end? I was dithering similar to you, but I saw that they'd had really terrible reviews on Trust Pilot so decided not to go for it.

Coincidentally I've just today found out NHS have a site NHS Fitness Studio which has free pilates and other such offerings. I haven't tried it yet but do plan to give it a go, it's free after all.

@214 - that's a really good idea!

I recommend Lottie Murphy on youtube for Pilates. She is an excellent teacher, and has a 20-something day challenge on her free channel. If you like her and want more, she has an extensive subscription website with loads more classes, but the free ones on youtube give you enough of a flavour to try.

All the decent online exercise things I have tried either have free trials or free channels. I would be wary of any that don't.

Thank you, @MsMartini , I'll check out her channel.

Ugh just a heads up for anyone else wondering about betterme, I signed up for a discounted trial. Didn't get on with it, it went too fast for me. Anyway, I couldn't find my subscription on the app or website so thought ok I mustve cancelled. They just took another £63.65 out of my account and are refusing to refund 🙄 I'm having to get my bank involved. Avoid at all costs!

I do have BetterMe and I have the daily yoga app. I use the daily yoga one more and it has some Pilates too.

Try different things on BetterMe. It's not all fast.

I’m guessing this is NHS England? We don’t usually get perks in NHS Wales 😂🙈

214 · 11/01/2024 21:54

I think it should be ok, I just goggled NHS Fitness Studio and it came up as NHS uk, so fingers crossed for you.

BigSkies2022 · 12/01/2024 21:50

I've got it as a 28 day tryout (which they then extended to 3 months, and I've made sure I won't renew the subscription) because I was feeling a bit bored with my usual routines.

It's OK. It helps if you already do Pilates or some sort of floor-based bodyweight strength/resistance/flexibility work, because you can substitute in more challenging/targeted exercises. It's useful if you want to do a fast blast of 20 minutes or so without thinking too much about it, because the daily calendar just pops up with that day's routine and away you go. So if you're trying to get an exercise habit established, it might be good for you - but also agree with PPs that there is a lot of good stuff on YouTube for free.
