Help!
I need to do more exercise. In the summer months I do some running, but in the winter I find it impossible due to to the dark days.
The gym is too expensive, and I am not good/motivated enough to exercise on my own.
I would love to find good online free videos that I could follow from home? I am looking for a mixture of cardio and strength. My tummy is growing by the day (more so since the menopause).
I usually eat a heathy balance diet but need to control my portions (December is always a write-off, I always overeat anyway!).
Any ideas would be welcome!
Thanks!

Monika fit is my favourite and I've tried loads

Buildingthefuture · 28/12/2022 19:30

Well, it’s not free, but Jillian Michaels is the best I’ve found. It’s around £80 for an annual subscription and for that you get access to thousands of different workouts. Her mix of cardio & strength is excellent (there are programs on the app from 30 to 365 days which are a mix of both) and also programs for specific areas. I’ve tried so many others but I always come back to her, she’s my go to (and like op, I also run in the summer)

I find Caroline Girvan quite advanced and I'm not a beginner. Try to find her beginners videos. Otherwise I highly recommend Joe Wicks. He better paces his videos so you can catch your breath;)

I would second bodyfit by Amy she's really lovely and has a really good mix of workouts on her channel. She does daily workouts with a theme for a month so December has been holiday hiit and she's starting another one in January which is a mix of strength and cardio workouts.
She is American and sometimes can find some American workout women quite intense but she's very calm!

I love growingannanas, dreadful name but her workouts fit the bill and I like that there is no chit chat at all, she just does the workout, I also second Bodyfit by Amy if you prefer an instructor who is chatty, she is good but I wish she would just get on with it at times. Try this one from growingannanas

Sydney Cummings is completely amazing, not intimidating whatsoever and has adaptions for all levels. I adore her.

Dogsgottabone · 28/12/2022 20:47

Bodyfit by Amy. I've been using her videos since before lockdown, she adapts for different abilities and is super easy to follow.

Sagittarius25 · 28/12/2022 20:49

Another vote for Sydney Cummings, she uploads workouts daily, my go to for home workouts

Worldgonecrazy · 28/12/2022 20:57

Caroline Girvan. So many videos to follow and very motivational even though she says very little. Adore her, and there is a supportive Facebook group too.

Fitness blender on YouTube. Loads of different types of routines

wineandsunshine · 28/12/2022 22:00

Lucy Wyndham-Reeves (not sure how accurate that spelling is) - but she has some really good workouts to follow.

StealingYourWiFi · 28/12/2022 22:03

I use peloton - all classes not just bike. They have great strength, cardio, yoga, pilates, hiit, stretching, meditation, outdoor walking/running classes. I think you get a month free or maybe longer and then it’s £12 per month.

before that I used to love Sydney cummings and get fit with Rick

Talapia · 28/12/2022 22:08

Fitness blender, the older videos with Kellie and Daniel. . A really good mix of strength and cardio workouts.

Hasfit also very good.

Joe Wicks.

I too, find Caroline Girvan advanced. She is good though.
