I'm 44, out of shape perimenopausal with knee pain.
Is caroline suitable for me. I've heard it's all deep lunges and burpees which I cant do. I'd like to lose around 2 stone and get strong. Thanks.

Try the beginners week. It's not good on the knees but I suppose it depends on if it's a niggle or something longer term.

I'm not sure what it is. Always been sore but recently the pain has been constant. Got an appointment in dec for hospital.

There's an official Facebook page which is worth joining. Beginners often ask questions and there's lots of support. You'd likely need to adapt some exercises. Start with body weight only and gradually add weight in when you feel comfortable.

Caroline is absolutely wonderful, but she is not for beginners. Even her EPIC for Beginners is pretty tough!

But all is not lost. Here are my suggestions for getting fit and ready for Caroline:

Growingannanas HIIT - with and without weights (start off with 3-5 kg dumbbells, depending on your current fitness)

Plus the following targeted workouts:

Bowflex 3-minute plank
Rebecca Louise's Stretches, Best Abs & Bingo Wings workouts
Lucy Wyndham Read's Thighs and Glutes, Muffin Top and other floor-based leg workouts

This is how I did it...... and nowadays I do 2 of Caroline's workouts most days. I'm in my 60s and in better shape than many women half my age.

But do check with your doctor first, and avoid squats, lunges, burpees etc until you've got your knees sorted.

Body pump is lower impact - there are squats and you can swap the lunges out for…..more squats!
